Meadow Morning Walk - Tea of the Month
As the summer holidays draw to close, we look towards the return to an old-new routine. Brew up a cup of our herbal Meadow Morning Walk & start your busy day slow & steady.
While is the shop & between fulfilling online orders, we sometimes get creative with our teas & herbal ingredients. Sometimes that creativity yields a blend that hits the nail on the head. Meadow Morning Walk was inspired by my morning routine with my son. After breakfast & before the first coffee of the day, we take a walk around Lepton Great Wood. Our route takes us down green pastures, over brooks, up through wheat fields, we follow Beldon Brook under the viaduct & back home again.
Our route is verdant & fresh, usually damp under canopy cover. Wild garlic perfumes certain sections in spring; elderflower firework display blossom before the summer heat comes; jelly ear mushrooms cling to arching branches while bright white stitchwort illuminates our way home.
Meadow Morning Walk was an attempt at creating a monring tonic, of sorts, that can enliven as well as calm. The a blend of nettle, chamomile & spearmint. I’m not a big fan of chamomile’s intense flavour, but the spearmint mellows these top floral notes. What I love about the nettle is it’s at once earthy & tangy, balancing the other two flavours.
